Andrew Philp

One of the things I most enjoy about my job is the people I work with. I am fortunate to work alongside a talented and dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about what they do and strive to deliver exceptional results for our clients. I love working at a global business but at the size you get to meet and interact with everyone globally.

 

The variety in my role is something that I find particularly rewarding; from the diverse range of accounting/finance matters that I am exposed to globally such as acquisitions, cash flow management, transfer pricing, international tax, compliance, providing commercial insights to the people matters of being part of a global payroll business. 

 

The leadership team across activpayroll has some of the most talented people I have worked with and provides me an environment to further develop my understanding of the industry, hone my accounting knowledge and really work on my own leadership skills. 

I discovered my passion for finance/accountancy during my undergraduate degree. Starting my career at AAB in Aberdeen, I became a qualified accountant with ICAS and gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of clients. I then transitioned to KPMG, where I spent 8 years, including international travel and exposure to various industries and company types.

I have worked at activpayroll for over 4 years, initially joining as Financial Controller in Aberdeen and leading the finance team, before taking the opportunity to relocate with my family to Kuala Lumpur take on the role of Executive Director of APAC in early 2023, driving the growth of our business in that region. In 2025, I was appointed Chief Financial Officer, and now lead the global finance function for the Group.
